“I am dealing with problems in the body where there is never just one cause. I’d like you to have more reality on the circular processes that do not act in the body, but that are the body. The body process is not linear, it is circular; always, it is circular. One thing goes awry, and its effects go on and on and on and on. A body is a web, connecting everything with everything else.”

What is Fascia?
Fascia is a general term for connective tissue in the body — a collagenous webbing that wraps various structures including muscles, ligaments, tendons, bones and organs. It is tough, strong and fibrous, but has a plasticity that makes it extremely adaptable. Fascia is said to form and hold the structure of the body because it relates to all tissues throughout. When there is an accident or injury, surgery or inflammation the fascia may respond with the formation of scar tissue or adhesions to protect the area. These adhesions can cause restriction of movement and instability.
Structural Integration addresses such adhesions and restrictions of the connective tissue in order to create a sense of continuity and organization of the whole body structure, which then allows for more ease, adaptability and fluidity of movement.
“After a back injury, terrible ankle sprain and recommendations from friends, I visited Dawn for her 10-series Structural integration. I had little knowledge of the process or how it could transform my body and energy. After my first two visits, my pain in my ankle was fading away quickly, I was walking better and my injuries were beginning to feel like a challenge of the past. The following visits began to create a connection with my mind and body and an awareness of my body that I have never experienced before.”
