They refer to the same thing. Ida Rolf called her work Structrual Integration, and her students referred to it as “Rolfing,” a name that stuck and eventually became trademarked.

I work directly, but gently. This process of working is a dialogue and dynamic interaction. If any contact is too strong or doesn’t feel right, all you have is tell me and we can work together to find the right pressure.

Sessions are $180 for 75-90 minutes.

The sessions can certainly stand alone and the client will receive benefits. The 10-series process, however, is most effective if the sessions are completed 1-2 weeks apart in order to create a sense of continuity and progression. That being said, I understand the flow of life and always work with people and their schedules where sessions can be up to a month apart.

Most definitely! This work is great for children of all ages and can help with postural concerns, sensory and motor skills, self-awareness and confidence.

I encourage people to take a short break after the series in order to integrate and flow in the rhythms of life. Periodic “tune ups” can be very helpful, and if people have chronic issues, continued regular work can be beneficial in maintaining balance and function.

Scarwork is most effective 4-6 weeks after surgery when the wounds have completely healed.
